Matthew C. Irving, Sr.; D. Min

Dr. MATTHEW C. IRVING, SR. was born and raised in the Monterey County. He began his life in ministry at the age of 19. Having parents rooted and grounded in the faith have served as examples in his life, a mother who was a licensed Missionary and father an ordained Elder in the Church Of God In Christ laid the foundation for his development.
Dr. Irving has faithfully worked and served in a variety of positions within the local church-from administrator, youth pastor to the assistant pastor. He is a graduate of Bethany University in Scotts Valley, California, where he majored in Church Leadership and pastoral Studies. Having been involved in continuous training and education of biblical courses throughout his ministry he is an alumnus of Kingdom Life Global Theological Seminary, where he earned a Doctorate of Ministry Degree, and currently serves as a board member and Dean of Curriculum.
Dr. Irving has been nurtured and mentored by his father the late Pastor Carroll W. Dade and his spiritual father Dr. Samuel E. Gaskin pastor of Christian Memorial Tabernacle COGIC in Seaside California.
With his biblical training and spiritual training, it has allowed Dr. Irving to have served as assistant Pastor of Christian Memorial Tabernacle Church of God in Christ in Seaside California as well as Pastor of the Mount Olive Temple COGIC of Watsonville California, also assisting other ministries in and out of California.
Dr. Irving currently leads the congregation of New Beginning Community Church of Santa Cruz, California for the past twelve years, and NBCC have been blessed to have broadcast on radio and internet radio as an extension of ministry. Dr. Irving is the founder of Agape Evangelistic Outreach Ministry, a ministry meeting the needs of hurting mankind.
Dr. Irving brings with him his experience of the ministry along with his beautiful, talented, and gifted wife. His experience in secular employment where he has worked in the financial community for over ten years and currently is an executive with Macy’s of Monterey where he has been employed for over sixteen years.
Earlier in the year of 2023 during India Sixth Jurisdiction workers meeting Dr. Irving was appointed as Administrative Assistant and Jurisdictional Secretary of India Sixth Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Church Of God In Christ under the leadership and Prelate Bishop Oscar Benton, Jr.
Dr. Irving has served in many capacities throughout the Church which has help prepare and shape his life, for such a time as this. To God be all the glory for what he has done……Dr. Irving’s motto:
